PolyDefend
A downloadable Grid Defense for Windows
PolyDefend
A roguelike tower defense where every run plays different.
Defend your core against waves of geometric enemies by choosing towers from random card offerings. No two runs are the same — adapt your strategy to what you're dealt.
How It Plays
Between waves, you're offered 5 random tower cards — pick 2, place them, and survive. With 16 tower types and a branching upgrade system that fundamentally changes how each tower works at level 3, your defense evolves in unexpected ways every time.
Features
- 16 Unique Towers — From basic turrets to chain lightning, vortex pulls, poison clouds, and tesla fields. Each with distinct strategic roles.
- Branching Upgrades — At max level, choose between two upgrade paths that dramatically change your tower. Rapidfire or Splitshot? Huge blast radius or fast fire? Your call.
- 10 Story Levels — Each with unique map layouts, core positions, and portal configurations. Terminal-style narrative briefings set the tone before each mission.
- 11 Enemy Types + 6 Bosses — Swarms, tanks, flyers that ignore your walls, stealth units, healers, and rotating polygon bosses that fight back.
- Wave Modifiers — Fog, Frenzy, Armored, Chaos, and more. Each wave can throw a curveball that forces you to rethink your setup.
- Endless Mode — Infinite procedural waves with scaling difficulty. Top 10 leaderboard tracks your best runs. How long can you hold?
- Combo System — Chain kills for score multipliers up to 10x.
- Two Active Abilities — Prismatic Burst supercharges all towers. Core Shield detonates for massive area damage.
- 5 Game Speed Options — Play at 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, or 3x speed.
- 3 Difficulty Settings — Easy, Normal, and Hard with adjusted economy and enemy stats.
- Procedural Audio — All sound effects generated from code. No audio files.
Aesthetic
Retro CRT shader with scanlines, barrel distortion, and chromatic aberration over a clean geometric art style. 320x240 internal resolution scaled to your display — pure pixel-perfect nostalgia with an HD option available.
The name means more than you think.
